Pohan Wong, a member of the Indonesian Classic Car Appreciation Society in Jakarta, Indonesia, first introduced himself to me along with a few photos of his uniquely customized 240Z back in 2004. He wrote then of his red Z, “Running smooth in the middle of the notorious traffic jams in Jakarta, the capitol city of indonesia”.

Key specs:  LHD 240Z with standard engine with original twin SU carbs, Sanden 507 Air Conditioner , power steering, central locking, power windows, 20″ chromed rims from “Niche” USA, with pirelli Pzero asymmetric 255/35/20, customized bumpers, side skirts and side and hood vents.

In 2005 he again updated me with the surprising photo below.

2005 satin black repaint of original red car

The satin black repaint, coupled with a new cream white interior, dramatic side vents and unique, custom tail light swap, definitely makes a unique statement from a land where few early Z cars are reported these days.

Bio Note:  In 2010 the Jakarta Globe published an interesting interview with Mr. Wong focused on his life long interest in vintage car collecting starting with his own father’s passion during Pohan’s childhood years.  Read article….

Status: In August 2012 Mr. Wong informed me that he had sold the car to someone outside of Jakarta and had lost touch with the new owner.  If anyone knows how to contact the new owner please ask him to get in touch with me.
